Many of the providers on the list offer both in-person and online services. Many of the providers are private pay, some have reduced rates available by request, and some may be in network with a few private insurance companies. More information can be gained by directly reaching out to the counselors who are closest to your school.
GET TO KNOW YOUR LEGACY COUNSELORS
Hi! I'm our full-time counselor at Legacy. I have lived in Utah, and Washington. After High School, I wasn't sure what I would do for a career, so I worked at Sea-tac Airport loading planes, worked a Dodge and Ford dealer as a technician, was hired to repair SWIFT Trucking tractor trailers (where I learned to back up a 53 foot trailers into the shop!), and even rebuilt hydraulic cylinders for construction equipment. I decided I wanted to do something different, so I went to WSU-Pullman (Go Cougs!) and earned a degree in Math to teach high school. I student taught at Fort Vancouver High School, and was hired shortly after that. After about 7 years of teaching, I decided to become a school counselor, where I worked at Evergreen HS for a few years before coming to Legacy. I enjoy any outdoor activities with my family (camping, hiking, kayaking, etc), watching sports, playing with my cats and dog, and consider my self a pretty avid Star Trek fan. Ask me sometime about my close encounter with an Orca :)
Hello! Here at Legacy, I hold two positions, half-time counselor and half-time teacher in the Re-Entry Program. I am a born and bred Washingtonian. My family moved to Vancouver when I was 3 years old, and other than college, I have resided in the ‘Couve. I am a product of Evergreen Public Schools, attending Riverview Elementary, Wy’East Middle, and am a proud Mountain View grad! (GO Thunder!)
After high school, I attended Western Washington University (WWU), when I earned a Bachelor of Arts, and then earned a Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification. After teaching awhile, I returned to school, earning my Masters of Education – Guidance and Counseling from City University of Seattle. After 7 years teaching in the district, I joined the Legacy team in the fall of 2017.
When I am not working with students, I enjoy spending time with family and friends (many of which I have know since childhood). Other activities I enjoy include reading, binge watching shows, and being outdoors – especially the coast. Being at the coast listening to the ocean is my happy place.
